Nadcap to hold regional technical symposia

24 August 2015

From September 2015, five Nadcap technical symposia are planned to take place in the USA and Europe before the end of the year. The anticipated schedule takes in five separate locations, covering both the East Coast and West Coast of the USA and two European countries.

USA Detroit, Michigan and Los Angeles, California September
Hartford, Connecticut October
Europe Birmingham, UK and Paris, France November

These symposia are being organized free of charge as an opportunity for companies that are not normally able to send a representative to Nadcap meetings to gain technical information/knowledge that will help them better prepare for a Nadcap audit.

The specific technical focus will vary per symposium but information about the following will be presented:

Chemical Processing

(Detroit – 11 September 2015, Los Angeles – 28 September 2015 and Paris – 6 November 2015): Mike Graham, Senior Program Manager for Chemical Processing will present recommendations for audit preparation, a review of the top ten NCR’s, conducting the onsite audit and NCR response guidelines. The presentation will also include a review of available resources including contacts.

Heat Treating

(Detroit – 11 September 2015, Hartford – 5 October 2015, Birmingham – 9 November 2015 and Paris – 6 November 2015): Jerry Aston, Associate Program Manager for Heat Treating, will present a general overview for preparing for a Nadcap Heat Treat audit. Included will be a review of the Top Ten HT NCRs and a review of the Heat Treat core (AC7102) and Pyrometry (AC7102/8) checklists.

Nondestructive Testing

(Los Angeles – 28 September 2015, Hartford – 5 October 2015 and Birmingham – 9 November 2015): Mark Aubele, Senior Program Manager for NDT, M&I, ETG and AQS, will present a general overview for preparing for a Nadcap (NDT) Nondestructive Testing audit. Included will be a review of the Task Group and their function, recommended audit preparation, conducting a Nadcap NDT audit, the top five NDT NCRs and a review of some critical checklist issues.

In addition, we anticipate representatives from Airbus, BAE Systems, Bombardier, GE Aviation, Northrop Grumman, Rolls-Royce, Safran, The Boeing Company and UTC to attend one or more of these symposia to present the Subscriber perspective on Nadcap. Local suppliers have also been invited to share details of their Nadcap experiences, from a “lessons learned” perspective.
